How to Stay Motivated

Motivation -

We human beings are very feeling oriented.  It is very easy for us to say:  “I don’t feel like it today”.  Huge mistake…  When you allow your feelings to dictate whether you do something or not – you’re really looking for a reason to fail.

Motivation is not some extra talent that you need to acquire in order to achieve something.  Motivation is getting yourself a big enough reason to complete your goal or dream.  If you have a big enough reason, an important enough goal at the end of the tunnel, finding motivation becomes a lot easier.

Taking action is one of the most important ingredients to success, and it’s one of the best ways to get motivated about a project.  Thinking about what needs to be done usually means that’s all you achieve – thinking.  Taking action, daily, is what will get you closer to your goal.

Looking at the big picture can frequently make you feel overwhelmed.  It’s important to have a plan, but break the plan down into stages – monthly, weekly and daily goals, and make sure you stick to them.  If you have to, make yourself answerable to someone – a buddy, friend, or family member.

Motivate yourself by thinking, if my life depended on me getting this done every day, I would do it.  Take responsibility for making sure you complete your daily tasks toward achieving your goal.  Reward yourself in a positive way when you achieve milestones.

Have a diary or notebook where you tick off when you have achieved your goal.  Being able to look back on progress made is a great motivator.  When you see what progress you have already made, you are more inclined to knuckle down to the next task.

Staying motivated when you have setbacks can be challenging.  It is a lot easier to be motivated when everything is working, but much harder in the face of challenges.  Always remember, tomorrow is a new day.  Take one day at a time.  We all have bad days, but just because you have one day that doesn’t go as planned, don’t allow yourself to give up.

Regroup your thoughts, remind yourself of your reasons for setting your goal in the first place, and start fresh.  Treat every day as a new opportunity to achieve and succeed.  Every person who has been successfull, in whatever form that means to them, has been so because they have persevered despite setbacks and frustrations.  They have not allowed their motivation to fade for any significant length of time.

It is human to feel disappointment or discouragement, but don’t allow yourself to stay there.  Find what will motivate you and start over.

Healthy Living

Today there is more information and products to help us achieve optimum health than ever before in history.  Any subject related to healthy living can be easily researched via the internet, local library, bookshop, health food store, or health care professional.

While the amount of information can be quite overwhelming, achieving and maintaining a healthy lifestyle doesn’t have to be complicated or difficult.  In fact, the simpler you make it the better.  It is literally a matter of getting the right information and taking action.

Healthy Living involves every aspect of your life:  spiritual, physical, emotional, and social.  Balance is one of the key ingredients to successfully achieving a healthy lifestyle.  Attempting to stay with regimes that are too strict or difficult to maintain over the long term, is very likely to end in disappointment and frustration.

So, Where to start in your quest for a healthy lifestyle.  Your spiritual well-being is something that is often forgotten altogether, or relegated to the least important issue of our health.  Being at peace with who you are and your Creator is actually the most important step.  It is possible to achieve a good balance physically, emotionally and socially, but still not achieve peace within.  Giving attention to, and allocating time for your spiritual health is vital.

Install the core mental patterns

Maintaining good physical health is what you probably know most about.  There is a flood of information about exercise, diet, treatments, and cures, for just about any topic imaginable.  This is where balance and common sense are very important.  Moderation is always wise, and as our bodies get older, getting a regular check-up is also highly recommended.

What you eat literally makes all the difference to how much energy you have and how well your body can function.  After all, the body can only function on the quality of the fuel you give it.

Moderate regular exercise is essential for healthy living, especially if your work doesn’t involve much physical movement.  Keeping moving is one of the easiest things to do.  Make an effort to get up out of your chair more often.  Take short walks.  Do some stretching.  Try deep breathing.  All of these things are simple and easy to do, and make a difference to how well you feel.

Your Emotional and Social health, are equally as important.  Getting to know yourself and what makes you feel happy, is one of the easiest ways to start achieving greater emotional health.  Are you are person who needs time alone on a regular basis?  Do you feel better when you get outdoors?  Getting together with people you care about and whose company you enjoy on a regular basis is important.

Listen to your body.  It will tell you if what you are eating, or how are are treating it, is beneficial or detrimental.  If you decide you need to make changes to your lifestyle in order to create greater balance, then introduce the changes gradually, and enjoy the difference in how well you feel.

Develop Leadership Skills for a Better Life

Possessing the qualities of Good Leadership creates greater success in every area of Life – work, business, sport, art and music, hobbies, and most importantly – family life.

One of the most obvious areas where leadership skills are valuable is in the business world.  But, it definite isn’t the only arena where possessing the qualities of a good leader makes life easier and happier.

Successful family life requires good leadership.  In families, decisions are made every day, and those decisions can significantly affect the happiness and security of the family members.  Being physically and emotionally safe, is essential for happiness.  Creating an atmosphere of stability and safety is the role of the leaders of the family.

Sport requires good leadership.  What chance does a team have of being successful in a competition, without the leadership and guidance of a good coach and manager?  The sporting field is a very good example of how great leadership can propel a team to perform at its peak, while poor leadership will produce the opposite effect.

Volunteer organizations require leadership.  Someone has to co-ordinate the work, otherwise the results will be less than what they could be.  When human beings are organized and lead effectively – there really is no limit to what can be achieved.

Musicians require leadership.  Imagine the effect of an orchestra performing without a conductor, or a band performing without a lead singer or guitarist?  The result would be far less than the true potential, and far less enjoyable.

While so far, we’ve covered the importance of leadership qualities when human beings are working together, Leadership is also important in the lives of individuals.

When an individual chooses to develop good leadership skills, they are putting themselves in a position to achieve more in their lifetime, and to enjoy life more too.

Individual Leadership qualities include:  motivation, self confidence, organization, social skills, self esteem, determination, and so much more.

Choosing to develop Leadership skills will benefit not only your own life, but the lives of those who you work, live and play with every day.  Choose to be the best that You can be, and make Your Life the Best it can be.
